La Rance Barrage – 15/16 May 2018

Article 1 of the Arrêté advises that the barrage bridges will not be raised overnight 15/16 May 2018 between hours of 19.30 and 07.30 for road works to be carried out.  If the weather is unfavourable then the works will be carried out the following night (16/17) between the same hours.  If a boat’s mast is small enough so that the bridges do not have to be raised, then there is no problem.

Thank you for your email.
The Channel Islands not being part of the UK or the EU, fuel purchased in the Channel Islands should be permitted to be used in the EU without incurring any additional duty or penalty by virtue of the 1990 Istanbul Convention, irrespective of the place of residence of the boat owner. All you need to be able to do is prove where and when the fuel was purchased.
While you are highly unlikely to encounter any difficulties in France or the Netherlands, the Belgian authorities have not always recognised the provisions of the Istanbul Convention notwithstanding that Belgium is a signatory state. This being the case, it may help if you are able to demonstrate to the Belgian authorities that you are resident in Guernsey.
With kind regards
